If you'd rather jump in, head to the fixtures desk and file your first 1-X-2 — the rules are also taught in-line as you go. The full reference below is for when you want to know exactly how a number got computed.

Important

Deadlines are strict.A prediction is only counted if you save it before the match kicks off. Submit early — don’t wait until the last minute in case the site is slow or your connection drops. After kickoff, the prediction is locked.

Use score boosters

Score boosters help you earn more points or get an edge on a specific match. Use them strategically.

Double Match

Double Match doubles your points for a selected match. Every player gets one 2× per round (group-stage MD, Round of 16, etc.) as a baseline.

Earn extra 2× slots

  • 50% of the round predicted. +1 extra 2× slot for that round.
  • 100% of the round predicted. +2 extra 2× slots for that round.

Note

Bonus slots apply from the group stage through the Quarter-Finals. Semi-Finals and the Final stay at the one-pick baseline.

To set a Double Match

  1. Open a match modal.
  2. Predict the score, then tap Pick 2× here.
  3. Repeat on as many matches in the round as your slots allow.

Clippy

Clippy is an AI helper that suggests a score for any upcoming match.

To use Clippy

  1. Open a match modal.
  2. Select Ask Clippy.
  3. Accept, edit, or ignore the suggested score.

Note

Credits are limited each week, and the count resets every Sunday.

Host-nation freebie

You receive one free Clippy credit for any match featuring a WC 2026 host nation: the United States, Canada, or Mexico. The Dashboard banner shows the current policy.

Challenge a player

A head-to-head challenge turns one match into a duel between two players. The player with the higher prediction score wins the duel; the loser pays a penalty.

To challenge a player

  1. Open an upcoming match.
  2. Select Challenge, then choose a player.
  3. Confirm the challenge. The challenge goes live immediately — no approval is required. The opponent receives a notification in the bell at the top right.

When the match ends

  • Winner. Keeps all match points earned.
  • Loser, as challenger. Pays a penalty of −4 points.
  • Loser, as opponent. Pays a penalty of −2 points.

Frequently asked questions

When do predictions lock?
A prediction locks at the match’s kickoff time. You can edit the prediction freely at any time before then.
Do I have to predict every match?
No. Predict the matches you want to. Matches you don’t predict score zero points; they don’t reduce your total. The exception is a head-to-head challenge: if you don’t submit a prediction for a matched H2H, you still pay the loss penalty.
Can I change my prophecies after I save them?
No. Prophecies are one-shot by design. Review your picks before you select Lock my prophecies.
What is the weekly Clippy limit?
You receive a small number of credits each week. Every match featuring a host nation grants one additional credit. Credits reset every Sunday.
Why does the Leaderboard total differ from My Picks?

The two views show different figures:

  • My Picks shows base prediction points.
  • Leaderboard shows the canonical total, which adds the Double Match bonus and applies head-to-head penalties and any admin adjustment.

For an itemized comparison, see the breakdown card on My Picks.

Why doesn’t the phone bottom bar show Prophecies?
The bottom bar holds the five most-used tabs: Home, Matches, Picks, H2H, and Board. To reach Prophecies or to sign out, open the menu in the top right.
Can I switch to a light theme?

The honest answer: light attracts bugs. Code bugs, that is.
